Commissioned by directors Alan Hinshaw and Dylan Humburg for the Lewis Cass High School Concert Band, this work explores the emotional terrain between chaos and clarity. Sweeping textures and stark contrasts form the core of its sound world, as light and shadow intertwine in constant tension. The music navigates the delicate space where light and darkness coexist—each defining and shaping the other—inviting listeners to reflect on the transformative power found within this balance.
