“I highly recommend Ian Hook, both as a talented instrumentalist and as a composer. We worked together on 4 projects, two of which I will highlight here. Ian wrote an organ and harp composition on the tune “The Gift of Love” for a special occasion in 2023. The piece memorializes the harpist’s granddaughter who tragically died earlier that year. His blending of the two instruments was truly remarkable. Also in 2023, I commissioned Ian to write variations on the Gregorian chant “Divinum Mysterium” for one of my organ recitals. It also turned out very nice, exploring the many colors and timbres of the organ using various stops and registers.”
